LIVELIHOODS - MSSRF, JEYPORE

The major objective of M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) is to enhance household income, livelihood options and nutritional security of small and marginal landholders through management of ecologically sustainable on-farm and off-farm livelihood activities in a participatory mode.  This could be achieved by imparting modern knowledge and improved skill set of tribal communities in methods of cultivation, appropriate crop selection based on available land and water, and diversification of crops for market linkage. The activities are integrated with conservation, cultivation, consumption, value addition and commercialization. Capacity building of the focal farm families, PRI members, governmental, non-governmental organizations for promoting and mainstreaming the interventions to elevate larger number of farm families above the poverty line.
