M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) aimed to ensure food and nutrition securities of the tribal and rural households to achieve the UN Millenium Goal of reducing hunger by half by 2015. Participatory approach was adopted for technical interventions like proper management of the nutritional kitchen and vegetable garden both at household and community level, conservation of forest food plants and establishment of Community Seed and Grain Banks. Awareness was created to pay attention to women and children health through increased consumption at household level among women and children to reduce malnutrition.
