The Group has taken an interest free
loan and have started producing vermicompost. They have
taken formal training in vermicompost production. They
have entered into a tie-up arrangement with the Pineapple
growers Association of SHG at Kolli Hills. They have promised
buy the entire produce of vermicompost at Rs.5/ per kg.
The Pineapple growers are into organic cultivation. As
the entire kolli hills is slowly turning to organic cultivation.
The Group has assured market and income from vermicompost. |

Pata Devata Self-Help Group is located
in hill area of Jeypore district in Orissa state. The
group consisting 15 members has started Groundnut cultivation
as a microenterprise. The group members have a small piece
of land and they cultivate groundnut and after harvesting
they sell the crop in a local market. The group has repaid
the loan amount out of the profit made in the activity.
This activity has helped the community in generating additional
income for the poor women. |

education for children and income earning opportunity. |
