Activity In order to make women self reliant and confident to cope with natural calamities, VIKSAT with the help of the Friends of MSSRF in Tokyo, has promoted 40 Self-Help Groups in 15 project villages. These SHGs have been initiated into micro-enterprise activities. VIKSAT had been organizing group formation, promotion of savings & credit activities and several enterprising activities through Self-Help Groups. VIKSAT had also been conducting various capacity building programmes related to enterpreneurship, Fund management. Funding support provided by The Friends of MSSRF-TOKYO, Japan are routed to provide interest free loans are provided to various SHGs in establishing micro enterprises. These funds are also helpful in meeting the credit needs of members as well as in enhancing the groups capacity in funds management. The entire process leads to strengthening the financial position in the groups due to various financial transactions and banking activities
 
The Process for the purpose of release of funds, the SHGs prepare a proposal giving details of the activity and the amount required to start a micro-enterprise. VIKSAT checks on the capacity of the SHG to carry through the enterprise and market available for the proposed business. If required, VIKSAT helps the SHG in these two areas. If proposal is feasible it enters into agreement and disburses the loan.
