Above-mentioned Vivasaigal Kuzhu of Periyanaikovil, Tharangapadi, Nagapattinam district, Tamilnadu consists of 12 male members with one-woman member had proposed to start household Dairy activity as their income generation. We have been working with these groups for the past 2 years. The group has very good experience in managing the dairy activity as an enterprise; they have decided to buy 13cows at an approximate cost of Rs. 15,000/. They will bring Rs.87, 550 as their contribution, MSSRF will extend 'interest-free' loan of Rs.195, 000 /-(from your bank Rs.61, 140). The group has attended several training programmes on Dairy management and composting. The group has developed a simple business proposal on their own to show the flow of funds and income that they will able to generate through this dairy enterprise. The group has marketing arrangement with milk Society - Poovam Coop Milk Producers, Karaikal. The milk will be collected from a common place in the village and fortnightly payments are made to group. The enterprises proposed by the Farmers SHGs will provide the members with an opportunity for earning a sizable income to support their families and thereby will help them in improving their economic status by providing their children with better nutritious food, better education and better housing. |
