The group was formed and linked with
banks by KODI TRUST, a reputed NGO working in KanyaKumari
District. The group is 5 years old and have regular saving
habits and are homogenous. The group members were into
income generating activity earlier to Tsunami. They have
been collectively engaged in Coconut retailing, Grocery
retailing, Textile retailing, Fish vending and Dry fish
processing. They have LOST all their assets to the Tsunami
waves.
The group had developed Business Plan. The group has experience
and knowledge of these activities they are venturing into
and are eager to make a fresh beginning.
1. Technology – The group is already in business
and had the necessary skill.
2. Market – All the income generating activities
do not have marketing problem as they have been doing
this business and have sufficient clientele among the
SHG members and villagers.
3. Management – Village Knowledge Center, MSSRF
will provide continuous facilitation by providing need-based
capacity building training programmes.
This enterprises is providing an income earning opportunity
to the group members and help. |
