Malligai Self Help Group, Madavamedu village Cuddalore district consists 10
members have proposed to start crab fattening as an enterprise. As the group is
already running this enterprise, decided to extend the enterprise by increasing
the number of cages and mass level of culture to enlarge the business with their
contribution of Rs.24, 000 and an interest free loan from Micro Credit Bank as
Rs.1, 00,000(from your Bank Rs.50, 000), the group has developed a simple
business proposal
1. Technology - groups has got training from Mr.Eraniappan, Director of
Periyar Mud Crab Hatchery, Kancheepuram District and has been running the unit
for the past two years.
2. Market - the group is having clear market for their product from nearer
marketing agencies in Palaiyar (general market village)
3. Credit - The group is contributing the margin money of Rs.24, 000 from
their group savings.
As MSSRF credit is interest-free the groups are able to enjoy an additional
margin, which would otherwise be towards interest, if the credit were acquired
from other sources.
4. Management -MSSRF will provide continuous facilitation by
providing need-based capacity building training programmes The enterprises
proposed by the Fisherwomen's will provide the members with an opportunity for
earning a additional income to support their families and thereby will help them
in improving their economic status by providing their children with better
nutritious food, better education and better housing |
