The
Centre carries out its activities across 8 sites spread over 2 states
(Tamil Nadu and Orissa) and the Union Territory of Puducherry. The Administrative
office is located at Chennai along with the laboratory facilities in
Integrated Nutrient Management
and
Integrated Pest Management.

The Centre is carrying out collaborative activities with Punjab Agricultural
University, Ludhiana, Punjab and Jawaharlal Nehru Krisha Vishwa Vidyalaya,
Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, for implementing a
community
managed bio-industrial watershed programme with technical collaboration
of Ohio State University, U.S.A..

The Centre is also working in the area of
securing
the livelihoods of rural poor and vulnerable communities by building
and enhancing their adaptive capacity to better cope with adverse impacts
of climate change and improve their disaster preparedness.
Designing Rural Technology Delivery Systems for Mitigating Agrarian Distress is a research study whose main focus is to design an effective technology delivery system in areas that are currently experiencing a severe crisis in agriculture. The findings of this research study shall throw important insights on issues relating to development, adoption and access of technology pertaining to crop production as well as post-harvest operations. This insight would be useful to device a meaningful technology delivery mechanism in the distress areas.
