  • Identification of pre-existed fishing grounds through interviews with local fishermen
  • Collection of landing data (Survey and data collection from the fisheries department)

Over 10 tons per day during peak season 150 kg per day during peak season.

Country crafts had good catches

Exclusive fishery for False Trevary. No exclusive fishery.
 
Reason for Loss of Fishery
 
  • Lack of rainfall.
  • Lack of supply of food in the coastal waters.
  • Effect of El-Nino during 1998.
  • Destructive fishing practices combined with climatic factor.
