Activity : Dr. Geeta Mehta opened the Bank in the year 2008 and the Bank supported the group in Jeypore – Koraput, Bebartaguda a tribal village group named Mauli Maa with an interest free loan of Rs. 22,000. The groups consists of 11 members comprising of both men & women belong to the below poverty line tribal families. Sheep rearing is a remunerative business (but there is also a risk involved. The Village is surrounded by forest where the wild animals will destroy the livestock, as there is no electricity facility too). The group members multiply the Goats, by keeping the younger ones and selling away the older goats. Through this process a regular source of income has been anticipated. The group is repaying the loan installment regularly.
