Care in the affected areas
 The
UN World Food Programme has supplied 300 metric tonnes of fortified
biscuits for distribution to affected populations in the tsunami
affected districts of Tamil Nadu. MSSRF worked with WFP in coordinating
the tie-ups for distribution. |
 The
distribution is being handled by the district administration in
Thirunelveli, Tutukudi and Kanyakumari districts. In Cuddalore
district, four NGOs - Disaster Mitigation Institute, DHAN Foundation,
MASS TRUST and LEAD are together handling the distribution in
the areas they are working in. In Nagapattinam district, the NGO
Sneha and MSSRF are handling the work. MSSRF is distributing the
biscuits to students of Classes VI-VIII in the district. About
13000 children will be covered under the programme and the supply
will last a month. |
