“Nurture Nature” essay contest to attend MSSRF camp

Chennai, April 25, 2014: 

If you have just written your Class X exams and have a keen interest in nature, here is a green opportunity for you. The M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) has announced an essay contest on “What can we do to address the issue of climate change” that will help select students for their annual camp on biodiversity, climate change and biotechnology.

Twenty applicants, who have just completed their 10th Standard in March 2014, will get an opportunity to participate in the non-residential camp in Chennai from May 8th to 22nd. The essay as well as academic record during the year will be considered for selecting the participants.

The students will interact directly with experts, work on experiments and make field visits through the camp, the costs for which are supported by MSSRF. The camp that ends on May 22nd – International Day for Biodiversity, will be held from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm each day and there are no charges.  The medium of instruction is English and participants will get a certificate on completion.

This is the 10th Year that the science camp is being held. Besides Chennai, similar camps are also being held by MSSRF in Wayanad and Jeypore as well. Over 500 students have benefited from these camps across the years, helping them get a hands-on feel and understanding of biodiversity and related subjects.
