Job Description: 

This post will provide support for the ICT initiatives through Village Knowledge Centres (VKCs) in the field. by closely working with community and other stakeholders. We are seeking an individual with field experience in rural development. The candidate will closely work with the community, stakeholders and National Rice Research Institute in Cuttack, Odisha.

Responsibilities:

  • Create awareness among farmers and other stakeholders about the VKCs and on the use of Modern tools of Information, Education and Communication
  • Dissemination of content, advisories, information through village knowledge centres using different ICT tools
  • Formation and facilitating the village level VKC management committee in the villages 
  • Build the capacity of the Knowledge workers and community members to use the modern ICT tools 
  • Develop a good rapo with the community and support to establish Village Knowledge Centers with appropriate management systems 
  • Explore and establish linkages with different stakeholders relevant to the field of agriculture, gender and livelihoods 
  • Collect baseline data and document case studies, feedback and · Work involves travel to field sites
Minimum Qualification and skill sets: 

Diploma in Agriculture with adequate knowledge on rural development, gender and community organization.

Experience in community mobilisation, organising and facilitation different with diverse stakeholders from farmers to different line departments/ agriculture experts especially women at the grassroots level

Experience: 

Essential: · Ability and willingness to work in multi-disciplinary teams (including

community researchers) Desirable: · Spoken and writing Knowledge in Odiya, Hindi and English languages · Field level experience in rural development related works
