About MSSRF: 

The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) is a not-for-profit trust established in 1988. The foundation aims to accelerate the use of modern science for agricultural and rural development to improve lives and livelihoods of rural farming and fishing and tribal communities. MSSRF follows a pro-poor, pro-women and pro-nature approach and applies appropriate science and technology options to address practical problems faced by rural communities in agriculture food and nutrition.

Fish for All Research and Training Centre of MSSRF adopts a holistic approach in resource management, sustainable livelihood options and disaster preparedness and management in coastal areas. This centre functions as training cum demonstration centre for strengthening existing and diversification of livelihoods and identifying alternative avocation for coastal communities by adopting participatory approaches involving all the stakeholders and associated multiple institutions. This programme specially focuses on women, artisans, non-traditional fishers, fish vendors, and fishing laborers among other producer groups.

Job Description: 
  • Convening stakeholders meetings / workshops at different levels 
  • Establish network and professional relationship with different key stakeholders / institutions towards programme/project development at the field level
  • Execute social mobilization and organization with institutional framework in the field to ensure sustainability of interventions
  • Undertake baseline, end line survey of interventions against the milestones and prepare project technical reports 
  • Monitor the project interventions ensuring accomplishment of expected deliverables Track project performance in relation to expected results and document processes, key results and change stories 
  • Prepare promotional and communication materials for the purposes of outreach 
  • Provide innovative ideas for Project formulation and extend support in the proposal development and fund mobilization processes
Minimum Qualification and skill sets: 
  • Minimum 5 years experience in handling field level projects 
  • Managerial skills with conflict resolution
  • Team management
  • Fluency in English and Tamil 
  • Reporting skill
  • Willingness to travel
  • Training and resource mobilization skill
Academic Qualifications: 

Ph.D. in Social Sciences/Life Sciences with 2-3 years experiences or Masters in Social work/Sociology /life sciences with specialization in Community management and 5 yrs of work Experience in relevant sector

Remuneration: 
Negotiable based on experience
Duration: 
One year on contract basis (likely to be extended based on the performance)

30-35 years
