Norman Borlaug is the only agriculture scientist who has received the Nobel Peace Prize (1970). He was not only a great scientist and wheat breeder, but also a great humanist committed to the cause of a hunger free world. He undertook tireless travel and spread a message of hope and cheer everywhere in the world where hunger was prevailing. Norman Borlaug is today a household name wherever there is food shortage and hunger because of his contribution to making hunger a problem of the past. It is a pleasure to introduce his life and work to the younger generation.
