500 farmers receive Training on Pest and Disease Management for Pulses Crops

As part of the Comprehensive Project on Rice Fallow Management, MSSRF’s Biju Patnaik Tribal Agro-biodiversity Centre has been initiating several training programmes across Nayagarh, Ganjam and Malkangiri districts of Odisha, on January 29 and 30, and February 7. These programmes focused on pest and disease management with a specific emphasis on pulses crops including green gram, black gram, Bengal gram and lentils.

500 farmers participated, gaining valuable insights and skills to manage pest and disease in pulses crops effectively. Following the training programmes, several Farmers’ Field Day events were organised to provide hands-on information using practical demonstrations. These initiatives aim to empower farmers with the knowledge and techniques necessary to enhance the productivity.
