Description: 

Dr. Elouafi is the Executive Managing Director of CGIAR. She was the Chief Scientist at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and the Director General at the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), which was based in the United Arab Emirates. 

Her contributions to science and policy have been recognized with a number of prestigious awards and accolades, including the 2025 TIME100 list of the worlds 100 most influential people.

About M.S. Swaminathan Centenary Lecture Series:

In the lead up to his birth centenary celebrations in August 2025,  the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), is organizing the M.S. Swaminathan Centenary Lecture Series to commemorate the late Professor's contributions to agriculture and sustainable development globally. 

This lecture series aims to inspire and foster dialogue on innovative approaches to address global challenges in food security, protection of biodiversity on land and sea, and sustainable development. We feature eminent researchers, scientists, thought leaders and field experts from across the world to offer a holistic view of the future of sustainable development.
