Localising International Videos for Sustainable Agriculture
Access Agriculture – an international NGO which showcases agricultural training videos in local languages – and MSSRF have signed an MoU to dub Access Agriculture videos into local languages for farmers. The videos are all designed to support sustainable agriculture in developing countries. These videos will be screened in MSSRF intervention areas for farming communities. The Access Agriculture team visited MSSRF, Chennai on 19th January 2016, met Prof. M. S. Swaminathan, and interacted with the IEC, Food Security and HMRC teams to understand MSSRF’s work. The idea was to commit to translating videos available with Access Agriculture into regional languages as well produce two videos per year. The agricultural videos have been prepared to facilitate better learning among farmers. The main topic of discussion during the visit was on diseases and pest management in the field. To start with 12 videos have been shortlisted based on MSSRF’s needs and sent for translation into Tamil.
