Need for emergency medical assistance in airlines and airports: Prof M S Swaminathan
December 22, 2017: Media reports indicate that the life of Dr Lalji Singh our most eminent expert in the field of DNA Fingerprinting could have been saved had there been adequate facilities for emergency medical assistance at the Varanasi International Airport. The airline also did not have the facility. I hope this will stimulate action in strengthening essential medical facilities in our airports and airlines. It is also important to study in detail the causes which lead to the premature passing away of Lalji Singh, so that appropriate proactive measures can be initiated.
