A team from M S Swaminathan Research Foundation met the Puducherry Chief Minister Thiru K Narayanasami, Chief Secretary Shri Ashwani Kumar, Collector, Dr T Arun, and other officials. Executive Director MSSRF, Dr K S Murali and Director Ecotechnology Program, Dr R Rengalakshmi, briefed the government about various nutrition efforts being undertaken and suggestions to further strengthen Puducherry’s nutrition mission. Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist WHO also discussed the status with regard to COVID-19 prevention and testing efforts in the state and provided inputs and suggestions to key health department officials as well.
M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) established in 1988 is a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M S Swaminathan, agriculture scientist with proceeds from the First World Food Prize that he received in 1987.
