Tribal Agrobiodiversity Centre, Jeypore

Over two decades of engagement in Odisha’s Jeypore region, MSSRF has championed tribal agrobiodiversity conservation. Key achievements include:

• Establishing community-managed Gene, Seed, Grain, and Water Banks.
• Promoting genetic literacy and documenting conservation traditions.
• Supporting women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in managing water resources, reclaiming wastelands, and marketing traditional rice varieties like Kalajeera.

These efforts earned Jeypore the Equator Initiative Award, reflecting the success of community-led conservation and livelihood enhancement.
