Post-Doctoral Fellow

Dr. Vipindas P. is currently working as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Community Agrobiodiversity Centre of the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation. He has over a decade of experience in the research and development sector, focusing primarily on livelihood and nutrition security interventions for the Adivasi communities of the Wayanad region.

Trained in Social Anthropology, Dr. Vipindas completed his doctoral research on “Livelihood and Health Status of the Paniyan Community of the Western Ghats, Kerala, India.” He has collaborated on several multidisciplinary research projects with eminent national and international institutions, including NIHR (UK), ICMR, IGIDR, NIN, Texas University, and Cambridge University.

Dr. Vipindas has authored twelve national and international publications across journals, edited volumes, and popular magazines. He has delivered over fifteen presentations at national and international conferences and has produced five visual documentaries highlighting various aspects of tribal life. He has been the recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including the Netherlands Fellowship (2016) and the Chief Minister’s Nava Kerala Post-Doctoral Fellowship (2023). In 2025, he presented a paper on human–wildlife conflict at the 8th South Asia Annual Conference held at Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland
