Funded by DST-CEFIPRA, the collaborative project between, the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS, Bengaluru) and Institute for Plant Sciences of Montpellier (IPSiM, Montpellier) will examine sodium transporter variation in cultivated rice and also within the genus Oryza through sequence mining, cloning, bioinformatics modelling and assessment of sodium transporting function in heterologous expression systems.
