Farmer-led extension strategy for enhancing farmers’ income through millets-based farming system in Kolli hills, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu
To identify millet farmer facilitators (MFFs) and study their characteristics in view to perform effective extension services in hilly and tribal areas
To empower MFFs through group approach, on-farm trainings and mobile-based information and communication technologies (ICTs) for enhancing income of millet farmers
To strengthen decision making of millet farmers and introduce suitable millets-based farming systems comprising, millet intercropping, livestock and bee keeping for livelihood security of millet farmers
To assess effectiveness of MFFs, ways, avenues for extension services and the MFFs’ characteristics desired by millets farmers in hilly and tribal areas
