Promotion of Plant Health Monitors* for Quality Vegetables Production in Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu
Location: Dindigul District, Tamil Nadu
The primary objective is to minimize economic loss and environmental risk and improve the crop yield, and safe vegetable production along with enhancing farmers. Developing a cadre of 100 men and women youth farmers as rural Plant Health Monitors by building their skills on plant health diagnosis and linkages with experts. They support plant health diagnosis at the first level and promote integrated pest management practices with due importance to biological/ organic inputs adoption at the cluster level. Besides, they promote production at the village level. The project is being implemented in Dindigul districts in diverse locations and is financially supported by NABARD.
