November 2017: MSSRF’s annual conference in 2017, focused on the theme of ‘Farming System for Nutrition’. A number of speakers from across the globe participated in the 3-day programme, including representatives from Government, scientific, community organizations. Following the delibarations, a ‘Chennai Action Plan’ was collated as part of the outcome. This was again shared with participants, inputs incorporated before being finalized.
At the programme, Prof M S Swaminathan, Founder MSSRF, called for a ‘Nutrition Revolution’ to make a significant difference with greater urgency. The details of this ‘Chennai Action Plan for a Nutrition Revolution’ areattached here.
M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) established in 1988 is a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M S Swaminathan, agriculture scientist with proceeds from the First World Food Prize that he received in 1987.
