Dissemination to Media: MSSRF’s 30 years research and MSSRF influencing policy changes
Warm Greetings from M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation!
A multi-stakeholder international consultation, titled “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals and Strengthening Science for Climate Resilience”, is being organised at the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) in Chennai from 7 to 9 August 2019. We have completed three decades of work and it is also an occasion to celebrate MSSRF’s 30th anniversary.
As a curtain raiser to the event, we are organising a Dissemination meet with the press on Friday 2ndAugust, 2019’, for dissemination of the research work of MSSRF during its 30 year journey. We will also share how MSSRF has played a pivotal role in influencing some key policies and programmes, e.g. the Plant Variety Protection and Farmers’ Rights Act, 2001, National Biodiversity Act, 2002, and National Policy for Farmers, 2007.
Prof M S Swaminathan, Founder Chairman, MSSRF and Dr N Anil Kumar, Executive Director, MSSRF and the Directors of all the Programme areas will be present at the meet to answer your queries (the media). We look forward to your participation.
Media interviews with eminent scientists and leaders who are attending the international consultation will be arranged on request, during the conference!

M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) established in 1988 is a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M S Swaminathan, agriculture scientist with proceeds from the First World Food Prize that he received in 1987.
