October 03, 2017: On this Gandhi Jayanthi day, I would like to highlight two of the Gandhian principles which have influenced my life and activity. First, Gandhiji advocated that young people should bring to villages a blend of brain and brawn. I followed this advice by emphasising the technological empowerment of women and men in villages. The aim is to add economic value to time and labour. The second principle which has influenced me is Gandhiji’s advocacy that we should serve as trustees of our economic and intellectual wealth. We should not consider to be owners of such wealth. This is the basis of my entire work in villages’ viz., sharing knowledge and new technologies
It would be appropriate for everyone to examine in what way there own life and work can be shaped by Gandhian values.
