Momentum for FSN – experience shared at global consultation
Experiences on promoting the ‘Farming System for Nutrition’ (FSN) approach were shared at an international consultation recently. The consultation, ‘Promoting Nutrition-sensitive Approaches: Linking Agriculture, Health & Nutrition towards malnutrition free Odisha’ was organised by the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, Government of Odisha and the Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives. Dr R V Bhavani, Director – Agriculture, Nutrition and Health program of MSSRF shared experiences around 5 years of work and advocacy on the concept. MSSRF is actively engaged in promoting a farming system for nutrition approach to address malnutrition. Participants from Bangladesh and the Philippines shared their experience with addressing malnutrition in their respective countries. The event held in October 2019 attracted participants from the government, international agencies and civil society organisations from Odisha and other parts of India.
