MSSRF mourns the passing away of a pillar of the institution
Nutrition expert Dr S Rajagopalan, who was closely associated with MSSRF right from its beginning, passed away in Chennai on June 16 after a brief illness. He has made immense contribution through his work, especially towards nutrition security and eradication of hunger. He had been a Distinguished Fellow at the Foundation and was also Secretary of Centre for Research on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development. He had been advising the Foundation on various strategies related to nutrition. MSSRF deeply mourns the passing away of a close friend and well-wisher. A condolence meeting was held in MSSRF campus on June 20.
M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) established in 1988 is a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M S Swaminathan, agriculture scientist with proceeds from the First World Food Prize that he received in 1987.
