MSSRF recognised by Central University of Odisha for conservation of traditional landraces
The Central University of Odisha was invited MSSRF to participate in the ‘Annual Conference on Women in the 21st Century: Environment & Sustainable Development’ held on from December 7 to 9. During the event, the Foundation showcased local landraces of millet and paddy, and conference participants had the opportunity to witness these indigenous landraces of millet and paddy showcased in the stall. This effort brought MSSRF an awarded that recognised the significance of conserving traditional landraces of paddy and millets, and the commitment to raise awareness among large audiences.
M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) established in 1988 is a not-for-profit trust. MSSRF was envisioned and founded by Professor M S Swaminathan, agriculture scientist with proceeds from the First World Food Prize that he received in 1987.
