October 1, 2017: In many parts of India this week is marked by the celebration of Ayudha Pooja. On this day, every one worships the tools which have given their livelihood. Thus, a surgeon worships his surgical knifes, a farmer worships the plough and so on. Unfortunately, while we seem to be the only country which venerates the non-living, we are also a country which is violent to fellow human beings. Non-violence to inanimate objects is praise worthy but it is very important that we should promote the culture of non-violence among all sections of human and other life. We cannot be non-violent to nature if we are going to be violent to each other.
